Who am I? I am a KEEPER of HOPE.
We live in a world that often demands more of us than we think we’re capable of coping with. Our individual lives can be shattered by any number of sudden, unforeseen events. Consider the ways your life could instantly change through a catastrophic medical diagnosis, the loss of a job, a divorce, a major financial hit, even a car accident. The list is nearly endless.
As a Keeper of Hope, I choose to see the good in life, the good in people and the good in the world. There are so many negative influences we have to navigate through each day. I strive to be a fountain of hope and encouragement, rather than a drain pulling positive thoughts and emotions out of others. As a keeper of hope, I see my role as that of a distributor; a distributor of as much HOPE as I can possibly give away.
It’s said that a person can live roughly forty days without food, about three days without water, about eight minutes without air, but only a few seconds without hope.
In 2006 I retired from a gratifying 29 year career as an educator to move to a fulltime speaking profession. My passion for teaching was second only to my passion for the well being of my students. All children require that certain basic needs be met. Some needs, however, are less obvious. They are “hidden” needs. One of the most critical “hidden” needs is HOPE.
Though much of my past experience centered on kids, and especially at-risk youth, the needs I have discussed above are not limited to youth or students. I have come to recognize a very real fact: Hope is a critical requirement at any age. Two of our greatest enemies are doubt and discouragement.
I am available for Keynote, Presentations, All day in-service trainings or Continuing Education hours. You may contact me by phone or email.
Sunshine and Smiles,
